Last week, President @georgewbush and Mrs. @laurawbush welcomed Ambassador Dr. John Nkengasong, U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator and Special Representative for Health Diplomacy, to the George W. Bush Institute. In his role, Dr. Nkengasong leads The U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (@pepfar ). PEPFAR is the largest commitment by a nation to fight a single disease. Launched by President Bush in 2003 to help resource-limited countries combat HIV/AIDS, PEPFAR has saved more than 20 million lives in almost 20 years. The Bush Institute is committed to using our voice to ensure the U.S. continues this live-saving work until the threat posed by HIV/AIDS is eliminated.
