& @diokaminaris present the PHOTO OF THE DAY of July 28, 2022 🚙 🛑 NO CARS NEEDED! Loutro is a small fishing village located approximately 71 kilometers south of Chania, at the end of Cape Muri. Here was the site of the ancient city of Phoenice and the port of ancient Anopolis. Later, it became the winter port of the city of Sfakia, due to the fact that the enclosed bay on the small island of Fanari is located in a natural harbor where ships can be safe even in very bad weather conditions. You can stay in Loutro and use it as a base to explore the surrounding beaches, either by taxi (boat) or on foot. You can make the enchanting beach of Glyke Nera east of the village. In addition, you can either swim or walk to the nearby unorganized pebbly beaches of Timios Stavros and Pervolaki located 1 km east of Loutros, just before Glyka Nera.
