Missing my family a lot and wish they were here with me. It’s hard not to think about all races Jade and I got to experience together before we had kids, and yet we wouldn’t trade our lives for anything because Jair and Ezekiel are wonderful. I know other athletes, who are parents, experience the same thing. On one note you feel like you want to inspire your kids and tell them you didn’t give up. But on another note it feels selfish to leave on a trip without them. One day (hopefully soon 🙏🏽) the Mendoza family will get to travel somewhere together and feel complete. Thanks @jade.ice.mendoza for all the sacrifices you make for me and our family! I’ll be giving it my best, regardless of what happens tomorrow. 📸 @andrewfitts
