Recovery time is similar for both upper and lower blepharoplasty procedures – you will want to take it easy for the first week, avoid heavy bending and lifting. Cold compresses used frequently for the first several days after surgery help minimize bruising and swelling. Approximately 80% of bruising and swelling typically resolves after the 1st 2 weeks and most patients feel comfortable returning to work and social functions after 7-10 days.
