One of the biggest power centers in Egypt is actually inside a tiny chapel dedicated to Sekhmet, the destroyer & healer goddess. It’s a humble spot off a dirt path from the monster spiritual metropolis known as Karnak, the largest temple complex in the world. We arrived to the hidden space in pitch black at 4am, walked through 7 gateway ruins, each one activating a chakra center before settling down at the outdoor altar space for a ceremonial circle. Initiates were brought into the sanctuary 1 at a time, first to be blessed by Ptah, the great creator god, then into Nefertume’s chamber to connect with the divine and enlightened child w/in each of us & finally into Sekhmet’s magnetic realm. Sekhmet is an unfiltered truth teller & reigns over your 5th chakra. In her healing arms, you will receive both the poison as well as the medicine you need to make great transformations in your life. She will hand you your shit with no apologies & unravel the illusions that keep you from accessing your authentic self. She is a slayer. Both in myth and in 3D reality, slaying can take its toll: A shower of screaming or repressed silence is the distorted form of her. Sekhmet must be tempered- by Hathor, queen of the heart. When the throat is plugged in & lubed up appropriately by the heart’s merciful juices, your voice will ring w/ truth, authenticity & power. People are petrified of speaking their truth: am I worthy? What will people think? Will I drive others away? This practice was all about remembering our power in how we deliver our messages so they land & expand potently. It can & must be done by dipping your voice into fierce compassion before blasting it. So honored to be in a magic trio of leadership on this trip: Grace as our divine, heart-centered gatekeeper, Dee holding the high priestess codes and activations and myself as the circle holder, prepping initiates for the journeys they are about to embark on, and each of us channeling in the ways that are unique to us.
