After our show up in Venice last weekend my buddy Landon shared this old photo of us with me. We’ve been teaming up on creative projects off and on for quite awhile now. In college there wasn’t much of a music scene up in San Luis Obispo, so we decided to have open mic nights in our living room. We did them every few weeks and the kids that came were always writing new songs for the next event. Those nights kind of stoked the creativity of our circle of friends and ended up expanding that circle to more and more new folks. It was a special time in life as we explored new instruments and ways to be creative. The community that was built through these night is something that I’ll never forget. I started recording the sessions on a little tape recorder and later made an album with songs from everyone for my senior project. Thankful for those times and longtime friends like @kelp_fried.
