The City of Atlanta did something historic tonight. We began the process of committing city resources — for the first time ever — toward the goal of ensuring Atlanta’s youngest residents have access to quality Early Childhood Education. Ninety percent of brain development occurs before a child turns five. Ninety percent. That is the ballgame. And thanks to the leadership of Mayor @andreforatlanta and his Senior Adviser @courtneyenglish4atl, we are making the City’s first investment — in partnership with @apsupdate and our philanthropic community — in building a framework where every kid in Atlanta has access to quality Early Learning. I am excited to see how this initiative grows and expands in the years ahead. And so very grateful for this first step.
