It’s something like the Israelites in the desert, or like the single person waiting to find their someone special, or like a child who just can’t wait for summer to finally come. I believe that being human is inseparable from this deep longing for something more. I’m not sure about you, but when I start to experience this tension inside of me I immediately start to ask “why?” and to search outside of myself for reasons for this ache. It’s almost like looking to the front door of my soul for help, assurance, hope, comfort and friendship. I hope that in some way that you find “The Door” to give you some sense of solidarity in the inevitable, interior tensions we all undergo this side of Heaven.
