#TalDiaComAvui el 2018 vam inaugurar «Picasso descobreix París» amb el Musée d’Orsay i el Musée National Picasso-Paris: una mostra d'intercanvi d'obres que il·lustrava la vida cultural de la capital francesa en el moment en què Picasso hi va arribar, al tombant dels segles XIX i XX. 📖 A la revista Pèl & Ploma del 19 d'agost del 1899 hi apareixia, amb data del 4 d'agost, una convocatòria per a la presentació d'obres d'art destinades a l'Exposició Universal de París. La notícia va provocar molt d'enrenou entre els artistes barcelonins, sobretot entre els més joves. Era una oportunitat per donar a conèixer les seves obres a París. ✨ #Picasso, igual que els altres, somiava amb aquell viatge a la capital francesa, però va haver d'esperar fins al setembre del 1900 per poder viatjar, acompanyat del seus amics Carles Casagemas i Pallarès. Allà van visitar els pavellons de l'Exposició, i entrar en contacte amb les obres de Manet i dels vibrants impressionistes... -- #OnThisDay in 2018 we inaugurated «Picasso discovers Paris» with the Musée d'Orsay and the Musée National Picasso-Paris collaboration: an exchange of works that illustrated the cultural life of the French capital at the time that Picasso arrived, at the end of the XIX and XX centuries. 📖 The issue of the magazine Pel & Ploma for 19 August 1899 carried the announcement, dated 4 August, inviting the submission of works of art for inclusion in the Exposition Universelle to be held in Paris from 15 April to 12 November 1900. The announcement was greeted with considerable excitement by local artists, especiaily the younger ones, as a great opportunity to make their work known in #Paris. ✨ Picasso, like the other artists, dreamed of that trip to the French capital. However, he had to wait until September 1900 to travel accompanied by his friends Carles Casagemas and #Pallarès.
