Sourced a bunch of random accessories I had laying around in the garage to build a custom cage for @matt.longshot Sony FX6 so that I can mount it vertically on my Freefly Movi Pro to shoot 9x16. Went through a process of trail and error with different accessories and after 2 hours of messy prepping, I got a fairly clean built that worked. Every little piece of accessory on this camera is very intentional, from the dual lens support (from opposite ends) to protect the weak E-Mount and to keep the lens in place so that the Tilta Nucleus M follow focus motor on the heavy zoom ring on the Sony 24-105mm f/4 lens doesn’t slip, to the easily accessible side buttons that is now on the top after the 90° flip - this top part is usually blocked a lot or partially because of the Adjustable Top Camera Plate from camera being attached to the top cage of the Movi Pro. The range of motion for balancing this camera on the Movi Pro was limited due to the added accessories, but that was easily solved with the counter weights. After scratching my head and asking myself “how the heck am I going to do this” because I wasn’t sure I had the proper accessories, I’m quite proud of the final build and I’m also grateful I had just enough missing pieces (that I’ve invested over the years) to make it work.
