9 months without alcohol !!️
here are 9 things i’ve learned:
1. you hold onto way more weight from excessive drinking than you realize. yes, there are calories in a vodka soda lol.
2. i realized drinking a lot made me MORE anxious, not less. i would retreat further into myself the more drunk i got. i’ve opened up and become a lot more comfortable with myself since i gave up alcohol.
3. you spend a shit ton less money when you don’t drink lmao.
4. your sleep will be INSANE. alcohol (even just a glass of wine) can ruin your sleep and ever since i stopped drinking, i’ve had the best snoozes of my life.
5. it’s cliche, but you CAN have fun without drinking!!! it’s a lie we’ve been told and that u tell yourself that you NEED alcohol to have a fun time.
6. your friends will be supportive of your journey ❤️
7. there’s so many more things to do that don’t involve alcohol! when you give up alcohol, you start looking for other spaces to hang out in and other activities to do that dont center around drinking. the world is truly ur oyster.
8. the hangovers are never worth it (especially in your 30s lol).
9. there’s so much more TIME. when i’m not spending half of my week drunk/hungover, i realized i have so much more TIME to do the things i love to do.
