As always, please follow the leave no trace principles while in the parks. As you know, much of the west coast has been up in flames recently. Improper campfire care has caused forest fires in the past, so please take a look at these guidelines from the NP leave no trace policy. “Campfires can cause lasting impacts to the environment. Use a lightweight stove for cooking and enjoy a candle lantern for light. Where fires are permitted, use established fire rings, fire pans, or mound fires. Keep fires small. Only use down and dead wood from the ground that can be broken by hand. Burn all wood and coals to ash, put out campfires completely, then scatter cool ashes.” Always check to see if you are allowed to start a campfire wherever you are. Together we can make the parks wonderful for everyone to enjoy!
