Our hearts are with the @minthillpolicedept officers at the scene earlier today, the families of the officers, and the entire first responder community of Mint Hill. We are lucky to be next door to the police station and it’s full of amazing people. Every interaction we have ever had with them has been nothing but wonderful. On the rare occasion we have needed their help they’ve flown in and helped us immediately. We’re lucky to call many of the officers friends and we are hoping for a speedy and full recovery. To all the people and families who were witness to todays events we are truly sorry. Nobody should have to witness things like this, we must never allow ourselves to normalize shootings in our communities. It is heartbreaking and awful. We should expect better of our neighbors and work towards finding solutions for the problems that have plagued our towns and cities for far too long. We may just be a small coffee shop/bar but what I really romanticize about this business is seeing people of all political and religious beliefs, all colors, shapes, sizes, ethnicities, etc. people from every corner of any spectrum you may be looking at, they come together here, they coexist and often times they become friends. You can believe whatever you want to believe I just hope that you believe we deserve a world where this sort of thing is never normal. Never. We love you Mint Hill and let’s take care of each other.
