This week we’re talking all things Bluebird on the big screen thanks to our friends @citynationalbank. Released in 1993, The Thing Called Love tells the story of a young musician who moves to Nashville to try and make it big. The film features the Bluebird as the backdrop of the main character, Miranda’s, workplace. It is at the Bluebird where Miranda begins to discover music, friendship, and love. While the majority of the filming took place at a replicated soundstage in Los Angeles, all of the scenes outside of the cafe were filmed right outside our front door here in Nashville, Tennessee. Our founder Amy Kurland was heavily involved in the filming and production process of the film and helped to advise the accuracy of the Bluebird set in Los Angeles. A few of our favorite songwriters are featured throughout the film and in the soundtrack as well, so keep an eye out for familiar faces the next time you watch!
