Tranquility is the most elusive luxury of all. And by that standard, Swiss-born architect Christina Seilern (@studioseilern) is well heeled. This whitewashed villa on the Greek island of Páros incorporates traditional building techniques inspired by the island’s historical architecture elements, from traditional window framing to hammered Aliveri marble inspired by local churches. “This is an element we derived from the historical context, rethought and reworked so as to create something familiar to the island yet new to the experience,” Seilern says. The result is a tasteful melding of the past and present.
