Karen Slack @KikiSlackSoprano and @KevinMillerPiano give the world premiere of “African Queens: Seven Rulers and Warriors Celebrated by Black Composers” at the @RaviniaFestival Martin Theatre! This program celebrates the history and legacy of seven fierce African queens who were revered as rulers and warriors through new works for voice and piano, one by each member of the Blacknificent 7! Jessie’s piece is titled “Song of Nzingha”, sharing namesake with Jessie herself, whose middle name is Nzinga.
