I’d be lying if I said I felt totally prepared for this beast. It’s been a tough summer trying to get a lot of things done and getting out to train has taken a back seat to a lot of other important life moves, but the spirit of the Leadville Trail Race series is not solely about how you stack up to those you toe the start line with- it’s about pushing yourself to a place you rarely or maybe never get to experience in your life, and what you learn about yourself along the way. It’s about riding in a landscape that you can’t find anywhere else in the world. And of course it’s about getting to that finish to collect that badass belt buckle. So the stoke is high and here’s to (hopefully) getting out a bit more in the next 4 weeks!
