I’m sad I didn’t get to see Daft Punk live... had so many opportunities, and I kept putting it off. I think this album is full of so many incredible musicians and producers it would have been difficult for it to fail. “Doin’ It Right” is a personal favorite tracks because I love Panda Bears work and you can hear his style so heavily. The whole album is such a love letter to 70s disco, 80s funk, and synthesizers. This album got me into Giorgio Moroder therefore opening the door for me to get into euro disco which is wayyyy different than American (Italian Disco is the one disco to rule them all). The summer of 2013 the song “Get Lucky” was played so much at clubs it became an immediate hit. This was also the summer I spent in Paris, and it was played everywhere. Inescapable. Dancing in the Rex club until 5am. Anyways. This is a must have album in every DJs collection and it’s so well created... it’s a prime example of disco not being dead. Anyways.
