THANK YOU dear friends, for the abundant and loving birthday messages!!! I have been taking my sweet time reading your notes, stretching out the sweetness of your words and wishes. I am SO grateful for your PRESENCE in my life. Sometimes, as the years stack up, birthdays can feel a little less climactic, planning something festive can seem a little frivolous or unnecessary, and then those moody blues sweep in somehow without warning (how does that happen?) I wasn’t planning anything to celebrate this year. And to my surprise, it turned out to be quite a heartfelt birthday. No plans turned into carefree, precious moments with so many things that I love. There was yoga, a bike ride on the beach, feet in the sand with an aperol spritz, flowers, cake, hugs and laughter and good food with a few friends and family, and driving with the top down to catch the sunset in Malibu. Best of all, I felt your love, tenfold. As I have been reading your messages, I’ve been getting this sort of perspective on how I show up to you, in our friendship, or in life, and it’s been very touching.
