Fruity Cholado with Pineapple Tea 🍍
Beat the heat with an ice cold Fruity Cholado. The most important step to this easy recipe is making a homemade Pineapple Berry Syrup with Tadin’s Pineapple Tea Blend as the key ingredient. Pour syrup over shaved ice, top with fresh fruit, sweetened condensed milk, and garnish with a wafer cookie. Colombian Cholado is like a cross between a Mexican raspado meets a creamy fruit salad...absolutely delicious. With a dessert like this, the hot weather can stay as long as it likes. Wanna make this super yummy Fruity Cholado at home? Simply follow the recipe below made by @presleyspantry ❤️
Fruity Cholado:
What you’ll need:
* one cup water
* one cup sugar
* 3 Tadin pineapple tea blend bags
* 4 cups berries (I used half raspberry half strawberry-use any berries you’d like)
* shaved ice
* Fresh fruit salad (I used, pineapple, blueberries, green, grapes, strawberries, mango, and apple)
* Sweetened condensed milk
* Wafer cookies
Directions:
1. Pour water and sugar into a small pot over a medium high flame. Add Tadin, pineapple tea, blend bags and bring to a boil.
2. Add berries into the sugary tea mixture. Allow berries to boil for 20 minutes. Most of the berries will break up on their own while boiling. Remove Tadin tea bags and then for the stubborn bits of berries smash with a masher. Continue boiling for an additional five minutes. Remove from flame and allow to room temperature.
3. Fill glass halfway with shaved ice.
4. Pour 1/4 - 1/2 a cup of pineapple berry syrup over ice depending on how big the glass is.
5. Add fresh fruit salad over shaved ice, and syrup filling the cup up to the top.
6. Drizzle sweetened condensed milk over the fresh fruit to your liking.
7. Garnish with a wafer cookie.
Enjoy!
