I went to my grandpas memorial today. It’s been 3 years since I’ve been back to Canada, and gosh it was emotional. Up on pigeon lake is a cottage that’s been in the family since the 50s. It’s kind of wild how long my families been visiting this lake and spending weeks of the summer here. It felt like the best spot to celebrate my grandpas life... I think he would have been really moved by today. My aunt Debbie had these photos of their summers as teenagers up at the lake in the 50s... I feel they really capture the energy of the time. The last photo is my nana, she’s so pretty... I’d like to think if there is an afterlife her and my grandpa’s love is strong enough to keep them together. ❤️
