'Madame Butterfly' - Composed by italian composer Giacomo Puccini in 1904, based on a short story written by the american author John Luther Long. It tells the dramatic story of a japanese geisha named Cio-Cio-San (Butterfly), who falls in love with an american naval officer. She gives birth to their son, but he leaves her and years later returns with his american wife. When she realizes that he won't return to her she commits suicide with her father's sword after saying goodbye to her son.
