This might be sorta dumb... I was just looking at how many steps I’ve been taking, the trend during the pandemic vs Dec 2019 (when I visited NYC to see Billy Joel at MSG). I can see a story in the walking. Some parts of the story are about travel, like being in Dublin > LA > NYC last week. But then I see Sept 2020 and I know that’s about loneliness. If you just skimmed it might read as if the steps are what drives the plot, but it’s the opposite. This isn’t a post about health. It’s not even really about the walking, even though it’s mostly about walking. I’m not even going to say some “be gentle with yourself” bullshit. I just wanted to acknowledge that stories change, sometimes because of circumstances but other times it’s the main character’s motivation. And I won’t judge the steps of September 2020, because they made perfect sense to the narrative at that time. This post is brought to you by Big PedometerTM️. “Step into your story.” I hope I’ve sufficiently undercut any vulnerability in this post.
