This morning I shared a few pointers on how to ask what someone’s pronouns are, respectfully on @fox29philly with @alexholleytv & @mikejerrick my morning show favs. Yes, it is pride month and most networks and corporations are using this time to capitalize off #pridemonth but FOX29 has ALWAYS been an ally and support system for me. Some of you may or may not know but in 2015 I officially started my career in media interning at Fox 29 Philadelphia. While interning at Fox 29 Philly I was just beginning to explore my gender identity and presentation and I didn’t know what could happen by ME wearing makeup and lashes at work. I was honestly surprised at how much support people like Alex, Mike @quincyharris & @mereditheells from @theqonfox @torrieduckson @laurendawnfox29 @jennfredfox29 and so many others gave me. They all let me know that me being unapologetically myself in the news room was more than okay but needed! I specifically remember having conversations about how my representation in that setting would push the standards of news anchors and tv personalities forward and to never stop presenting as my true self. Since interning at Fox I gained a TV host reel and so many connections that I am forever thankful for.
