A year ago I did something I never thought I would do and that was enter my name into the Chicago Marathon lottery. I unluckily was chosen. I had taken 5+ years off from running and I was not in shape at all. Through the months of giving up my weekends to get those long runs in and evenings for the training runs, I was able to build new relationships and finally find myself again. I found myself where I was happy. Oct 8th was my first marathon and I have to say that it was an extremely painful but a massively rewarding experience. I was lucky enough to be accompanied through most of the race by @leo_flowers & @maybemigue. The first half was some of the most fun I’ve ever had running. I am really excited and overjoyed to see what the future holds. thank you to @venadosrunning for helping me along this journey. special thank you to @meganng1317 & @alex_ortiz2 for helping me make it through !!
