With all the wildfires in full force, Bend has had some pretty bad air quality the last few days šš½. At times hitting 300+ in AQI (this year mainly from the Cedar Creek Fire). I've found I run on the treadmill more during the wildfire season, then I do during the winter.
And running indoors doesn't mean you won't experience any symptoms because you still get smoke particles in your home, and you still have to get outside at times. Everyone gets different symptoms from the smoke. I mainly get headaches and watery eyes. My kiddo had a stuffy nose and also watery eyes this week.
The hardest part for me is planning around how fast the smoke changes. The wind can blow it in and out very quickly and sometimes by the time you get to your destination the AQI has already changed.
With kids its even harder because you can't get them outside to play like their used to. Those crisp fall mornings can't come soon enough. A big thanks to those who are out there fighting the fires š„šŖš½.
