After opening in Paris, Rome and London, Sebastião Salgado’s acclaimed Amazônia exhibition now reaches Brazil. Designed and curated by Lélia Wanick Salgado, this selection of 200 photographs of the Amazon forest and its Indigenous population will open to the public on Tuesday, February 15, in the Sesc Pompeia space in São Paulo. The presentation of this photographic project in Brazil is of special significance because never before has it been more critically urgent to protect the Amazon biome and the Indigenous peoples of the region since their survival is seriously threatened today.
