I still remember telling a coworker I was going to have VSG and she said to me “save all your old clothes because most people gain all their weight back.” Her comment stayed in my head as motivation because I knew for a fact I wasn’t going to fall into that category. Like she did... I lost 80lbs prior to and it was due to the work I put in at the gym and the knowledge I gained going through my weight management program. I got educated on nutrition, learned how to read labels, and so much more. So why still go through with it? Because I knew shrinkage the size of my stomach would help me long term. I didn’t care what people thought and I had a family to live for! Some people will say “You cheated” but the only thing I cheated was death. 200lbs down and I regret NOTHING. The surgery was a tool, the weight wasn’t just sucked out. Best believe I still put in work.
