Today is an extremely important day for Brazil and also for the planet, as in the capital Brasília takes place the Act in Defense of the Earth, a large demonstration in front of the National Congress in protest of the so-called “destruction package”: a series of laws to be voted on by the Parliament that legalize environmental crime in the country, favor illegal mining and deforestation in the Amazon, attack ecosystems and threaten indigenous populations. The current Brazilian government intensifies its attacks on the environment and indigenous groups, reaffirming its anti-ecological policy, against science and human rights.
