So special to be interviewed by @nytimes this week on the topic of rewearing wedding dresses 🤍 When it comes to fashion, not only do I love buying second hand or vintage, I’m conscious about how much I’ll rewear the things that I do get new, and my wedding was no exception. Both dresses were designed to be incredibly timeless and classic pieces, and at the same time different and special, whilst remaining effortless and wearable (not an easy feat!). And in being timeless, I wanted them to be things I could wear again one day - even if only for very special occasions. My civil look will definitely be worn again, either as it is or customised by shortening it or even dying in some day. And my ceremony dress will be something I’ll turn to for bigger events, accessorised differently and dressed down (sans veil). And not only the dresses; I chose my jewellery and accessories with the same thing in mind, veering away from really bridal styles and more towards classic, versatile, vintage-inspired pieces that can be worn again and again. My main piece of advice for new brides is to bring your own personal style into the look, and interweave bits you can wear in regular daily looks after the wedding; it’s such a nice way to keep reliving the memories
