I never thought Iโ€™d appreciate Pride as much as I did this year. With everything going on, it felt incredible to stand in celebration and unity with my ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ people. To come together, dance, parade and cheer. To shout about social issues and feel held by an entire community. This yearโ€™s Pride was an antidote. I think back to the magnitude of joy and relief we all felt when Prop 8 was overturned in 2013 and the parties that quickly ensued. It was beautiful, happy chaos in Hillcrest. One of the best days! And now, after Roe being overturned, fears about same sex marriage rights are festering, yet again. As naive as it may be, I canโ€™t believe how much weโ€™re backsliding as a nation. My heart feels heavy more often than not. But for one day, this Saturday, my heart soared and I felt hopeful again. The world is filled with wonderful, kind, supportive and loving humans. Humans who want the best for eachother. If you ever need that reminder, go to a Pride parade... or a marathon. They both tend to do the trick. There is hope for the human race. I have to believe that. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ #lgbtqiapride #LOVEWINS
