This Warrior Wednesday we are highlighting Master Sgt. Steven Ortiz, currently stationed at Hanscom Air Force Base. Sergeant Ortiz joined the military at the age of 18, because he knew it would afford him the opportunity to make something great of himself. "I was willing to do whatever it would take to see the farthest lands and experience all that life had to offer. I fought hard to earn a position with the PHOENIX RAVEN team at Joint Base Andrews. While there, I traveled the world with POTUS, VPOTUS, SECSTATE, and many other world leaders. Though I find myself now ending my career far differently than I ever imagined, I still look back at all I have accomplished with overwhelming pride. I fought my fight, I stayed strong even when I felt weak, I never wavered, and I did it all with the odds stacked against me. I have grown tremendously and have experienced things in life that few people ever get the chance to. I joined as a boy and I walk away a man, albeit a man of many scars. The Air Force provided the paper. I held the pen that wrote the stories. That is what makes me proud!"
