I’m not usually a - put my private business on the grid kind of gal - but the facts are that myself and every other independent contractor, solo stylists, lone wolf artist out there - are but just one human. But recognize that having a unique look comes with longer wait times when it comes to email or text replies, less appointment openings that might not fit your ideal timing, and yes an increase in the likelihood of needing to reschedule the occasional appointment. What you see on my grid is pretty hair. What you don’t see is the 9 days I’ve had to keep my kid home from school so far this year. The stomach bug that hit him and then me a week later. The time he needs and deserves my attention after school and on weekends. The exhaustion of never ending laundry and dishes and surprise peanut butter finger painting, realizing it’s been months since I’ve seen this friend or that family member. Dealing with the needs of an aging parent and navigating a separation. There is no receptionist or assistant or team to make the calls or reply to the emails or fill in when I have to cancel. Please consider this when you book with me or any other independent creative.
