Would you have guessed? I’ll admit ...not quite what I was expecting and now I understand why it was painted-cast iron rusts. Still gorgeous & I treated it with a protectant to hopefully prevent that from happening. I had high hopes for brass as we have a fair amount of brass hardware throughout the house, but that was not the case here- sorta the fun of restoring an old house- you just never know what’s in store. Anyways, the good news is that the tiny bathroom has a door once again! #oldhouse ##hardware #restoringoldhardware
