Founded in 1959, the Newport Folk Festival has always strived to present artists who respect and honor folk music traditions, while at the same time reflecting the changes in trends and the times in which they live. This year marked the 55th anniversary of Sister Rosetta Tharpe’s performance at the festival. We are grateful to our good friend @celissemusic , the young musicians from @riotrhodeisland and our Folk Family who helped us celebrate.
