✨Day 289 of 365✨ styling a vintage piece from my grandma‘s and my collection every day for a year! The craziest thing that has EVER happened to me on social media has happened... @dvf sent me a dress! Now I know this isn’t technically vintage, but the history is WAY too cool not to share! (Not to mention I paired it with exclusively vintage accessories!) Diane Von Furstenberg is celebrating the 50th anniversary of their wrap dress and has released a line inspired by the original dresses from the 1970s! In 1972 Von Furstenberg launched the wrap skirt/top which would later become one of the most iconic trends of the 1970s! Partly ideated in response to her divorce, @therealdvf was famously quoted saying “if you’re trying to slip out without waking a sleeping man, zips are a nightmare!” She dedicated her life to empowering women and these jersey dresses are meant to change with your body, since it’s totally adjustable! I paired this Demetria Wrap Dress with grandma’s suede 1970s boots, some 1960s(ish) blue clip-on earrings, and a vintage blue scarf in my hair! If you wanted to be a part of history and get your own, head to the link in my bio & use code: GABIS_VINTAGE (Full disclosure; I get a portion of sales) I love you! 😘 #gifted #dvf #vintage #vintageootd #stylevintage #vintagestyle #sustainablefashion #slowfashion #shopvintage #vintagefashion #vintageinspo #vintageaesthetic #retroaesthetic #childhoodmemories #fashionhistory #20thcenturyfashion #20thcentury #fashionhistory #dianevonfurstenberg #1970s #1970sfashion #wrapdress #vintagedianevonfurstenberg #1970sdress #designer
