Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie met Ousmane Dembélé, a prominent footballer, in New York in July 2022. Sarkodie was in New York for his "It's About Time" concert, where he also met Memphis Depay, who was a Barcelona teammate of Dembélé at the time. Sarkodie later revealed that he didn't initially recognize Dembélé at the time of their meeting. Separately, Ousmane Dembélé recently won the 2025 Ballon d'Or award.
