Writer, Director, sometime Countdown star, Shirley Barrett was one of the most joyous, naughty, clever, talented women I have ever had the good fortune to cross paths with. She made me a better actor and made every room better that she walked into. I can honestly say I loved her to pieces. Working with her over the years on Offspring, Mr and Mrs Murder, Five Bedrooms and our own little side hustle has been one of the great joys of my life. Her books and her films are incredible. I’ll be having a Shirley Barrett festival at my house. Her work lives on. Sending love to her beautiful family.
