How do you express gratitude in writing when you step into welcomed surreal experiences? It all begins with a seemingly small idea . And now? We took on the @instagramnextaus stage alongside some of Australia’s most valued creators, brands, presenters and talent. I spoke on this stage with one goal: amplification. Speaking about the valuable power of the BIPOC community in front of the leaders in social media felt like a sense of freedom. I even had a chance to shout out my favourite creators and I chose the artistry of @laetitiapelch. We were heard on Friday. As a woman of colour who grew up excluded from the beauty industry, I used my voice to stand for visibility alongside a collective of empowering women @lauren.meisner @jordyn_christensen and @jessicatravers_ Let this be known, @centennialbeauty @maccosmeticsanz and @annalisedeakin are the LEADERS in beauty and social media. This is how you pave the way for other brands when it comes to inclusive representation in this industry. Belief, understanding and celebration of diverse voices happened on this day. We depicted ease in locating impactful talent within the BIPOC community AND the Micro/Nano creator world. We reminded why investing in niche communities is rewarding on multiple facets. We proved that creator led ideas are transformational. And I’m so bloody proud.
