🎬MOVIE SCREEN 14b/8c (second ascent)🎥 A few days ago I made a stop at the NRG to have another go at this legendary @mikeywill78 route before heading out west for a bit. I’d tried a several days last winter, but the odds were just not in my favor. I was super inconsistent on this dyno, and with the inconsistency of the weather (the route sits in a water streak) It never came together. On a whim, I was looking for partners to go out there with and @henry_ritterpusch messaged me late the night before saying he was psyched. We rallied, rolled up to this perfect rock climb and I immediately felt better than last season. The moves felt easier and I was hitting the crux dyno way more consistently. On my fourth try that day, I made it happen! I believe this is the second ascent after @tylerwillcutt in 2017. That sorta blows my mind, since the route is accessible, beautiful, and I have heard it brought up in conversation many times...so it’s not like people don’t know. This was one of the few routes at the New still on my list, and it was incredibly satisfying to stick that low percentage move from the ground.
