Ps the story of our meet cute: I’ve know Rufus “intimately” for years. Since first hearing Poses something shifted in the way I look at life even- “life is a game and true love is a trophy”... but I was just a girl on a train hearing a perfect song and feeling that wild connection to an artist I’d never met before. Fast forward 10 years and change and I’m an LA regular, who’s fallen ( a few times ) in and out of love - enough to write about it - enough to even call it a disco and smile through the tears a bit. Kyle Shearer and Nate Cyphert and I began work on what we now loving call our Opus. No one gets happy/ sad like Rufus I thought / he needs to be on this track. So I did what any normal person would do and I ever so politely stalked him. Emailed, gently zoom nudged, and eventually extended an invitation to mine to hear the song and try out our voices together. Guess what? He sad YES because he’s just as magic in person as he is in your head. He’s what the word “star” was created for and I’m just a gushing piece of mush for getting to share this duet with him and the world.
