We remember Brazilian soccer icon Pelé, who was born Edson Arantes do Nascimento. He wore this jersey to play with the New York Cosmos in 1975, bringing attention to the sport in the US. It’s now in the collection of our @amhistorymuseum. He was named Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee in 1999.
