It’s funny (usually not really funny at all) how out of order the healing journey is. I am accustomed to and okay with life as an amputee—extra steps when dressing, scanning the terrain for potential tripping hazards when walking, losing socket suction on hot days (0/10, would not recommend, very ghetto), literally relearning how to walk, among so many other things...but asymmetry in what I wear is still is a great insecurity. I wouldn’t have posted this first photo a few months ago because my brain, still wired for symmetry, would’ve only seen my mismatched calf silhouttes and missed out on this twirl skirt moment. I’m still working in this area and just learning how to surrender. #BabySteps . . Mirror necklace by @tin_tin_tint . . [images: 1.
