Did you know some sharks are “friends”? Well, maybe not in the same way that humans form friendships, but research led by @felicycles for her PhD suggested that juvenile lemon sharks (not pictured) have different personalities and interact socially. While actively tracking tagged juvenile lemon sharks, Felicie was able to consistently observe pairs and small groups of sharks that were always together! These bonded sharks may have been learning from each other to hunt and forage, or were staying together for safety. Maybe these two nurse sharks are best friends too!
