Clarifying & deep conditioning are key for hair growth 👏🏽 Healthy hair starts at the scalp!! Clarifying your hair? ⚡️It’s the process of removing all buildup from hair & scalp using a clarifying shampoo (like @rizoscurls Detox Scalp Scrub or @sheamoisture JBCO Strengthen & Restore Shampoo) 🫧 A regular shampoo will have a lower amount of surfactants (cleansing agents) and more nourishing & hydrating properties that won’t leave your hair as squeaky clean like a clarifying shampoo. I clarify about 2x a month or as needed like whenever my scalp feels too itchy or I go to the beach & its sandy. I use a hydrating shampoo the alternating weeks I don’t clarify like @rizoscurls Hydrating Shampoo. 🫧 After clarifying ALWAYS deep condition afterwards to replenish moisture lost from clarifying & to help reduce breakage, split ends, & your hair’s overall health. I deep condition once a week whether I clarify or not. If I shampoo more than once a week, then I would only deep condition once and the other time use a regular conditioner. 🫧 Don’t over do it on deep conditioning too often like more than once a week because you could suffer from moisture overload. Instead, condition in between. 💖 Favorite deep conditioners: @rizoscurls Deep Conditioner & @sheamoisture Intensive Hydration Hair Mask 💖 I use the Rizos Curls deep conditioner when my hair feels very dry, dull, and curls look fluffy & use the Shea Moisture mask whenever my hair feels stringy & rough (this mask contains protein). I use them based on what my hair needs at the moment to keep up with a healthy moisture/protein balance. 💖 I apply deep conditioner/mask to roots whenever my hair feels too dry or like it just needs that extra help. Other than than, I don’t always do this because my hair can get weighed down.
