As we see pride month come to an end in London, concluded with trans pride yesterday (which I was gutted to miss), I wanted to share some unedited freewriting I did last weekend. I couldn’t go to pride because I had an early flight the next day. I’d been feeling like I had something to get off my chest for a while but I couldn’t determine how I wanted to express myself and through what medium. I opened word and after an hour of non stop writing, 2500 words later, I had this essay. It’s completely unedited, so give grace to the typos, but I think it gives a really open, reflective snapshot into my pride journey in a way that many might relate to, queer or not, and many might understand in a way they might not have before. I appreciate it’s a long read but I wanted to share it and I encourage you to save it and have read over a cup of something you love.
