The realest gift✨ The grind of home life with a little children can feel like it’s sucking your brains out at times. At least it did for me. But after growing up the way I did, moving constantly, having to take care of myself at a very young age and not having place where I could feel safe and loved... I grew to know that what I was giving my children was an absolute treasure- even if my brain melted for a bit. The laundry matters. The dishes matter. The food that you give them matters. The hugs matter. The calm matters. The sunscreen matters. The being a taxi driver matters. I’m not saying that all these things matter so much that if you don’t do them perfectly you should feel guilty. I’m saying that when you feel like you haven’t gotten anything done in a day you’ve actually likely gotten quite a lot done. Just because it’s normal for you to feed and clothe and love your children unconditionally, it doesn’t mean that it’s normal for all children. It’s an unfortunate truth and if you’re doing those things for your kids you should feel proud of what you’re doing because you’re setting them up for success in so many aspects of their lives.
