Property values are rising in the U.S. — and so is the ocean.
Swelling sea levels could fully or partially flood $34 billion worth of coastal real estate in the U.S. over the life of a 30-year mortgage, according to an analysis by New Jersey nonprofit @ClimateCentral.
Sea levels are expected to rise dramatically in the coming decades, and the nonprofit predicted the damage to tidal level properties could be much worse by the end of the century, potentially tripling losses in counties adjoined to the sea.
