A true honor + delight to be a part of the chorus celebrating his memory, marking this moment. The medallion is installed at the site of his second studio—272 Lenox Ave. I regularly walk by this building + the site of his first studio on 135th street. Yesterday’s walk felt particularly special. When the work takes you out of the museum, into the world, cradles you home. #jamesvanderzee #harlem
