DUPLIN FLOCK: PROJECT SOAR SERVES VETERANS & FIRST RESPONDERS THROUGH RECREATION A COMMUNITY PARTNER SPOTLIGHT: Project SOAR: At @accessilm, the power of connection, recreation, and community is transforming the lives of Veterans and First Responders. Project SOAR (Sports, Outreach, Adapted Recreation) has created an inclusive space for Veterans with service-connected disabilities and illnesses, and all First Responders to reconnect with their health, well-being, and each other. For Veterans who have transitioned from military to civilian life, Project SOAR offers more than just a chance to get outdoors — it offers hope, camaraderie, and a new sense of purpose. They regularly serve more than 75 Veterans and have outreach to hundreds more through our collaboration with multiple Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs).
